How do I Register for Mixaloo?
Registering for Mixaloo is easy, just go to www.mixaloo.com and start building a Mix right on the homepage. You will be prompted to register as soon as you begin.

I lost my password, how do I retrieve it?
Simply click on the "Lost Password" link next to Log In and follow the instructions.

I want to change the email address that Mixaloo emails are sent to, how do I do this?
Click "My Accounts" and then click "Account Data". Your email address appears in the My Contact section and you can edit it from there. Be sure to click save after editing.

Why does Mixaloo need my personal contact information?
We just need what little info we ask for to make sure you get paid when you sell tracks and qualify for payment. We don't share your personal information with anyone. For more information read our privacy policy.

What does Mixaloo do with my personal contact information?
We only use it to contact your via email with information about Mixaloo and any notifications you have opted in for and to pay you for your music sales. For more information read our privacy policy.

Creating and Managing Mixes

How do I create a Mixaloo Mix?
Just go the homepage and fill in Album Title, Upload Cover Art, and Mix Description. Once you click Add Tracks to my Mix button you will be taken to the track picker page. If you need help with the track picker, click on the Help link in the upper right.

How do I upload cover art to my Mixaloo mix?
Click on the "Browse" button under Select Cover Art for Your Mix on the homepage. This will open your desktop and you will need to browse to the folder with the image you would like displayed. If the image is too large you will receive an error and need to follow the resizing instructions. To change album cover art, go to edit mix and click on your cover art. You will see the "Browse" box open at the bottom and follow the instructions above.

Mixaloo told me my cover art was too big, how do I resize it to make it fit?
Follow the instructions on the screen when you try to upload cover art that is too big.

Why did Mixaloo delete my cover art or album description?
Mixaloo reserves the right to remove any content that we feel is a violation of the Terms and Conditions. Most commonly we delete Album Art or Descriptions because they are offensive or violate somebody's Copyright. For more information please read the Mixaloo Terms and Conditions.

Once I have created a mix, how do I find it again?
From the Homepage click on My Mixes and all your Mixes will be displayed.

In the My Mixes section, I can delete some mixes but not others, why can't I delete any Mix I want?
Once a mix has been purchased you can no longer delete it. This is necessary for fulfillment and accounting purposes. If a mix has not been purchased, you are free to delete it at any time.

How do I find and select an artist or band?
Once you click "Add Tracks to My Mix" on the homepage or "Edit Mix" within the My Mixes section you will be taken to the Track Picker Page. If you need help from there, click "Show Help" button next to the artist search box.

I can not seem to find an artist I am looking for in the track picker, why not?
While Mixaloo has over 3 million tracks, we don't have every piece of music ever recorded. We are working hard to have all music that is available for digital resale and are updating our catalog daily.

I found the artist I am looking for but not ALL of their albums, why not?
Some artist only allow a limited number of their Albums or Tracks to be sold digitally.

Clicking on a track name will play a :30 track sample. For flash samples, click on the track again to stop it. For Windows Media Player click the stop button on the pop up.

Why do some samples have blue icons and some red?
Blue Icons are flash based tracks that will play immediately while Red Icons are Windows Media Player tracks that must launch Windows Media Player.

Why do I need a minimum of 10 tracks to publish and promote a mix?
This is part of our agreement with our partners.

Why cant I have more then 15 tracks in my mix?

How do I delete a track from a Mixaloo Mix?
To delete a track from your own mix simply click Edit Mix in the My Mixes section and click the red X next to the track in your Mix Track List. When buying a mix, you can delete a track by right clicking on it.

How do I tell the track picker I am done creating my mix?
The track picker dynamically saves your mix each time you make a change. Clicking Preview /Promote is a good way to ensure your mix is saved though.

How do I edit my Mix Name, Cover Art, or Description?
When you click "Edit Mix" from "My Mixes" section you can click on the Mix Name, Cover Art, or Description on the top right to make changes.

Promoting My Mix

What does the Promote button do?
The promote button gives you the chance to promote your mix on your favorite social media sites by simply entering your log in information for that site. It is also where you can grab "Embed Code" which will give you HTML to place your widget anywhere you want.

How are you putting this into my favorite social network sites without me copying and placing code?
Our partner has integrated with the social networking sites to enable this. Your user name and password for these sites is never stored and never used for anything other than distributing your widget.

What information about my widget are you tracking?
We track the number of Views (or people that have seen it), the number of buys (or people that have bought it), and number of points that Mix has earned you.

How does emailing a widget to a friend work?
Simply enter their email address and they will be sent a link which brings them to a special page on Mixaloo.com to view your widget.

When you click on "Promote" the very bottom button allows you to "Copy Embed Code". Clicking this will copy the embed code to your clip board all you have to do is paste it anywhere you want it to appear.

What are the colored boxes below the Widget Preview?
These allow you to change the color of your widget to better integrate it with your other pages.

If I change a widget theme, does it change all my widgets?
No, only the widget you are previewing or editing at the time.

If you edit your tracks in the Edit Mix section, the changes will appear everywhere that mix is embedded the next time they are refreshed.

Selling and Being Paid for Mixes

Anybody within the United States that has a valid credit card. This includes you!

Mixes are bought by clicking the "Buy" button on a Widget and the transaction is processed securely right inside the widget. Once the transaction is complete, the buyer is sent an email with instructions on how to download their music.

How much money do I earn for the sale of a Mix?
Mixaloo shares revenue with you based on the following formula: Retail (track price "“ wholesale track price (what we pay the artist) "“ Partner Processing fee)/2 = your payment. We try to keep it between $.08 and $.20 per track but can not guarantee that.

How many points do I earn for the sale of a Mix?
You get one point for each track sold.

How do I get paid when my mix gets bought?
We pay users once a month when they have exceed a $10 minimum balance. If your account is under $10 your balance is forward to the next month. Once a year pay out all users regardless of balance. For more payment information please review the site Terms and Conditions.

If I give a mix as a gift, how long does the recipient have to pick up the mix?
Gifted Mix Downloads do not expire.

Click the "Buy" button on any Mixaloo Widget and follow the purchase instructions.

I don't have a credit card, but want to buy a mix. Can I?
Were sorry, but you must have a valid US credit card to purchase a mix at this time.

How do I give a mix as a gift?
Gifting a Mix occurs by clicking "Gift" on any Mixaloo Widget. You will follow a check out process that will ask for the email address of the recipient among other things and the recipient will be emailed a link to download their mix.

I tried to buy a mix, but not all the songs showed up on the confirmation page, why?
While our data is updated daily, occasionally there are tracks in our Database that are no longer available. When this occurs those tracks are automatically removed from a purchase.

Can I remove tracks from a Mix before I buy it?
Yes, by right clicking on a track on the Confirmation Page before checkout.

How many people can I give a mix to as a gift at one time?
Unlimited! Please gift away!

Points

You earn points each time a mix is sold. Mixaloo may also distribute points for other actions at its sole discretion.

You can redeem points for products available in the Mixaloo "My Points" section.

No, points have no cash value and the value of the products that points can be redeemed for is in now way an indication of point value.

No, points do not expire. The only way to loss your points is if you account is terminated for violation of the Mixaloo Terms and Conditions.

Points are redeemed via the "My Points" page on Mixaloo.com. Just click the redeem points link to redeem points.

Can I earn points for anything other than mix sales?
Mixaloo may distribute points for any reason it sees fit and at its sole discretion.

There was a product I wanted in the Point section but by the time I had enough points it was gone?
Mixaloo reserves the right to change products or the number of points needed to earn a product at any time. Occasionally we will be forced to remove products or change the point values based on product availability.

Retrieving my purchased music

How do I retrieve (download) music that I have purchased from a Mix?
A purchase confirmation email will be sent to you with a link to download your music. It is necessary to download a small application in order to download your music so be sure your PC security settings do not block you from doing so.

Can I return music once I have downloaded it?
No, once you have downloaded music you can not return it.

If I give a mix as a gift, can the recipient change out songs in that mix?
No, gifted mixes can not be altered in anyway.

We can not download cover art or description along with your mix. Unfortunately, we can not even keep your tracks compiled together.

I am from outside the United States and Mixaloo will not let me purchase music, why?
Mixaloo does not support purchase by users outside of the US.

I tried to put music I downloaded from Mixaloo on my iPod but it doesn't work, why?
Some Mixaloo music is Windows DRM encoded which means the downloaded music does not work on Apple iPods. We are working with our partners to grow our library of non-DRM MP3 tracks as fast as possible.
